Choose Braaton Beef

The beef our ancestors ate were grass-fed. Dr. Weston A. Price traveled around the world in the 1930's to discover why degenerative disease was on the rise in America. He studied healthy primitives and wrote about his findings in his world renowned book; Nutrition and Physical Degeneration (which can be purchased from The Price-Pottenger Nutrition Foundation at www.ppnf.org).

The first stop on his trip was in the Leganthol Valley where the Swiss lived. They were abundantly healthy. He noted that their beef was fed grass in the spring, summer and fall, and hay in the winter. The hay was from the spring grass cuttings. The cows with the richest milk with the most Price Factor-Activator X* were the cows that ate on the first leaves that started to come up after the grass had been mowed down to the ground. This is exactly what is done at the Braaton Farm.

*What is the Price Factor-Activator X?

Dr. Weston A. Price discovered an additional fat soluble vitamin which is now called the Price Factor-Activator X. It is a powerful catalyst which helps the body absorb and utilize minerals. It was present in the diets of all the healthy primitives he studied from around the world, but unfortunately has almost completely disappeared from the modern western diet. Sources include organ meats from cows eating green grass, fish eggs and shellfish. Butter can be an especially rich source of Activator X when it comes from cows eating rapidly growing grass in the Spring and Fall. It disappears in cows fed cottonseed meal or high protein soy-based feeds.
