About 20% of the beef sold in America comes from cattle born outside US borders. In 2000, 2.2 million live cattle passed through US borders from Canada and Mexico. Other countries that exported meat to the US in 2002 include: Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Uruguay.
